Bou Cou carries shoes, tights, leotards, warm-ups, jazz pants and costumes for ballet, tap, jazz, modern, ballroom and praise dancers. And we have apparel for fitness, gymnastics, and cheer. Customer service is our number one priority. We stock sizes from tiny toddler to plus size adult, but we're always happy to special order if you don't find what you want. We offer free alterations on the items we sell, so we can nip that leotard in, shorten its straps or hem up your jazz pants. Shoes are an important part of a dancewear business and we work hard to get just the right fit, especially for pointe shoes. New employees go through a certification process to learn not just about the different brands and styles of shoes but, more importantly, they learn about all the different foot shapes and how to fit shoes to make the dancer's foot look beautiful and perform it's best. Bou Cou also sells and rents costumes to both individuals and groups. Many are made onsite in our costume workshop. We make costumes for all types of dance, but ballet tutus are a personal favorite. They take a multitude of hours to make, from hand pleating the tulle of the skirt to embellishing with fine crystals, but the finished costume is a fairytale of its own when brought to life on stage.
